Windows 7 Beta Client And Windows Server 2008 R2 Beta Not Support 16 Caracters DNS

This is may be one of bugs that has to be resolve by Microsoft since the new iteration platform, Windows 7 beta anf Windows Server 2008 R2 can’t support the domain name systems that are contained with more than 15 carracters before dot(.). Based on information was gotten from Microsoft, when a user try to join whether windows 7 client beta or Windows server 2008 R2 beta with by using system properties interface, the Netdom.exe command, an unattended setup, the Djoin.exe command or the other mechanism. Beside that a user also unable to use active Directory installation Wizard (Dcpromo.exe) for installing Active directory Domain Services in server.

Microsoft also mentioned that the name of domain that can’t be jopined is DNS with morethan 15 carracters before dot. But it will work when the DNS is contained with 15 or less carracters. For easy example maadcomputer.com is contained with 12 carracters means that it can be joinned. But doesn’t for Northwindtraders.com. But when there are more than dot in a DNS, what need to be notice is the number of carrater before each dot for example Fabrikam.treyresearch.litwareinc.com.
