- It requires small hardware power source compared with MS Windows. It needs processor that is equal with Intel pentium 100 with 32 MB of memory for running X-Windows. It also supported with office feature like Staroffice. You can get Staroffice 5.0 and MP3 Player when you install Mandrake 7.0.
- The Security grade. It requires every people to sign in before operate computer. It is different with Windows Operating system that allows every people to operate it. If doesn’t, it requires more setting.
- Linux is safer from Virus. But it doesn’t mean that it is absolutely free from viruses, but most windows viruses can’t broke Linux security. This is caused by kernel that is owned by Linux is different with Windows
- Various desktop layout. This is easier than Windows Operating system to set desktop layout. Linux user can customize their screen different anymore with the other user
- Cheaper price. You can copy Linux by borrowing Installation CD from the other user. It different with Windows Operating System that requires more than $100 to get Windows Operating system.
- It is more stabill. It can work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without restart. But Windows needs at least once a day.

he2.., alhamdulillah i’m a linux user.., i’m using ubuntu in my laptop.., hmmm.. for the first reason.., it’s has chaged.., as we now that.. alot of linux distro have a great desktop with beryl or compiz rihgt now.., its need high hardware, but don’t worry.., like u said.., we can still use linux with minimum requirment.., by using distro like linux puppy.., its a great distro with very small requirment.., or for extreme small linux you can try DSL (Damn Small Linux..)
